Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the merits of family sports scholarship with community service. First family, he's the youngest of nine children of Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. Second football he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the most effective offensive lineman of the nation by Outland as well as Lombardi. Outland Awards. Oklahoma had two National Championships throughout his time as a lineman. Selmon received a third award in 1975. In addition, he was referred to as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned his degree in education. Fourth-year service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week in volunteer projects. He settled down in Tampa following college. He played for the Buccaneers for 9 years and played three times in the all-pro league. The beginning of his business career came. The year 1988 was the first time he was working as an Account Relations Officer for First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's top young males. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in size and weighed in at 256 pounds as a college player he led the 1975 team. He joined at the University of South Florida as assistant director of athletics. In 1988 the year he was a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor who presented this award.
